Is bread like crack for you?

Are you addicted to bread, cookies and pasta?  You might be interested to know that wheat affects the brain much like heroin does, causing feelings of euphoria when you eat it and withdrawal when you don't.

Whaaaaat?  Why doesn't the average bagel-chomping person know this?

5 FOODS TO AVOID TO IMMEDIATELY REDUCE YOUR ADDICTION TO WHEAT

This list has the potential to be ridiculously extensive, as wheat is in practically everything on the shelves of the markets.  Here is the quick low-down.

Reduce your addiction by reducing the following foods:

1.  Bread.  I am sorry for insulting your intelligence but it needs to be said.  Whole grain, multi-grain, semolina, rye, sourdough, pumpernickel, baguettes, bran, croutons, graham crackers, spelt, durum, farina, faro, kamut….they’ve all got to go.  Pleeeease resist the urge to replace wheat with “gluten-free” products (this will be the topic of a future WholeHealthTV segment).

2.  Beer & Spirits.  Ales & lagers along with barley malt, vodka distilled from wheat (Absolut, Grey Goose, Stoli), whiskey distilled from wheat or barley, wine coolers….they’ve all got to go.  Choose wine instead.

3.  Processed meats.  Canned meats, deli meats, hot dogs, imitation crabmeat, meatballs, sausages….they’ve all got to go.  Choose fresh, organic meats, poultry and fish instead.

4.  Condiments.  Soy sauce, salad dressings, teriyaki sauce, bottled marinades, gravies thickened with flour, malt vinegar, taco seasonings and other seasoning mixes, bouillon….they’ve all got to go.  Choose simple seasonings like salt, pepper, fresh garlic, ginger and lemons instead.

5.  Energy bars & other snacks.  Clif, Kashi, Slim-Fast, and Power Bars along with candy bars, chips and cereals….they’ve all got to go.  Choose fresh fruit & vegetables with nut butters for energy instead.

REMEMBER:  Eating as simply as possible (fresh vegetables & fruits, good clean proteins, and whole food sources of beneficial fats) will always create good health in your body.  Eating packaged & processed foods will take good health away.
