If I had a dollar for every time a woman said to me that bread and cookies are like crack for her, I would be a very, very wealthy woman.
It is SO painful and confusing when you are mired in Processed-Carbohydrate-Addiction. I know because I have been there.

Two years ago, I was 30 lbs. heavier (yup..) and I had basically thrown my hands up in the air and decided I could NOT stop eating bread. I literally COULD NOT STOP eating it.
After years of health coaching women through this very same hideous condition, and even with everything I know about food addiction & cravings, I had found myself right there in the same place and totally powerless to put an end to it. Talk about depressed? It made me question everything that I was about. It had gotten to the point where I wouldn’t bring “good” bread into the house anymore, so I would resort to eating the sandwich bread that I had purchased to make my kids lunches. Just talking about this makes me feel shaky.
I finally took myself to the doctor and what she told me made me go cold-turkey that very same day. I had a blood-glucose level that was nearing diabetic (not kidding), my thyroid was completely out of whack and I had a condition called Hashimoto’s Disease, my iron, iodine and B-12 levels were non-existent, and I had a yeast overgrowth condition called Candidiasis.

Long story short, I did what I needed to do. I refused prescription meds that would “help” me in the short term and I began to heal myself naturally.
